Since I've been married, we've moved 5 times. While there are some great, fun, things that come with moving to a new area, there are also some hard things. One of these hard things for me is being the new person, and being patient in the process of meeting and making new friends. When we moved to our area, we began the process of searching for a new church and community of people to really plug into, which can feel overwhelming.
The first Sunday we visited our current church, Lesley was one of the very first people I met. She was so warm and so welcoming. And she did something that has never happened to me before in all of our moves...after meeting me just once, she remembered my name! The following Sunday she came and found me, welcomed me back, and remembered exactly who I was and what we talked about the week before. I know that may not sound like much, but with each of our moves it took months for people to know us or to even notice if we were or weren't there. Needless to say, 3 years later we are still at that same church (and loving it!) and Lesley is now a close friend. I learned from her that the smallest gestures can mean the most! I'm so thankful that I know her and her family and I'm so honored that they chose me to capture some memories for them. Enjoy some sweetness from the Honer family!
