Last weekend we traveled to our hometown, Dublin, Georgia. My parents home is surrounded by fields that my grandfather once farmed. I have two older sisters and our two cousins lived next door. These fields were our playground and we had so much fun with all that freedom and open space. I love getting to go back and use those same fields for photography. My mom laughs because she can't believe the field is deemed pretty enough for people to want to be photographed there. There is just something about the tall grass, trees, and naturally simplicity of it all that I love! Plus throw in that beautiful fall light and it's perfect for timeless photos.
Another perk of visiting Dublin is getting to see old friends. Christy is only a couple of years older than me, but when you are in high school and can't drive yet, it makes a big difference! She was one of those sweet friends who was and is so kind and easy to be around. She was one of my many surrogate "big sisters" that carted me around before I was 16, which makes it so cool for me to photograph her family now. Her two kids are so much fun. I love getting to talk to kids and these two did not disappoint. Plus that little guy had some excellent expressions!
